Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković met today in Banja Luka with Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko, who led the Tatarstan delegation during their working visit to Republika Srpska.
Both sides emphasized that the previous two days had been extremely productive and that a roadmap for cooperation had been established, comprehensively covering sectors such as economy, industry, and energy.
Korobchenko pointed out that there is a solid foundation for cooperation in the petrochemical sector and that Republika Srpska has the capacity to absorb resources and expertise from this highly developed industry in Tatarstan.
In addition, special focus was placed on the possibility of launching production of electrical energy equipment in Republika Srpska.
The discussion also included agricultural cooperation, where the strong potential of Republika Srpska was highlighted—particularly the opportunity to build a plant for the production of artificial fertilizers, along with other production segments reliant on natural gas.
Tatarstan’s well-developed automotive industry was also emphasized, including heavy-duty vehicles and tractors that could be introduced to the Republika Srpska market under special terms.
The meeting also stressed Republika Srpska’s significant tourism potential, which could attract visitors from Tatarstan. Both parties agreed on the need to enhance cooperation in this sector, including the potential establishment of direct air connections.
Excellent opportunities for cooperation were also identified in the fields of education, culture, and youth policy. Concrete plans include the exchange of academic staff, cultural professionals, and students.
Deputy Prime Minister Korobchenko noted that during the visit, specific products from Republika Srpska were identified for future placement on the Tatarstan market, according to a statement from the Government of Srpska.
The multi-day working visit of the Tatarstan delegation to Republika Srpska has officially concluded.
Željko Budimir, Minister for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska, saw the delegation off at Banja Luka Airport. The visit was led by Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Korobchenko.
