Minister of Trade and Tourism of Republika Srpska, Denis Šulić, and Deputy Prime Minister of Tatarstan, Oleg Korobchenko, laid wreaths today at the memorial to fallen fighters of the People’s Liberation War in Banja Luka.
Korobchenko described the three-day visit to Republika Srpska as very successful, during which a cooperation document outlining joint plans across multiple sectors was drafted.
He emphasized that the Tatarstan delegation included not only government ministers, but also representatives from the republic’s largest university, various associations, and business leaders.
Korobchenko highlighted the importance of the economic forum held at the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska.
“Our plans, based on all the meetings, are now part of a formal document. They cover several sectors—including energy, product exports, joint production, participation in exhibitions, and co-organization of future forums,” he stated.
He added that the delegation had the opportunity to discover the many beauties of Republika Srpska over the past three days.
“We are considering ways to increase the number of tourists from Tatarstan to Republika Srpska, and we are also ready to welcome visitors from Srpska to Tatarstan. There’s much to see. In any case, you are always welcome,” said Korobchenko.
Minister Šulić noted that significant cooperation has already been established between business communities in Srpska and the Tatarstan delegation during this visit, with continued support from relevant ministries.
“The foundation of this cooperation was laid by the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, who previously signed the agreement with Tatarstan. We are building a house on solid ground,” Šulić said, following the wreath-laying ceremony with Korobchenko at the memorial site.
He added that Tatarstan has a well-developed tourism sector, advanced medical services, and valuable expertise in agriculture from which Srpska can learn.
The delegation also visited the bust of General Georgy Konstantinovich Zhukov, a symbol of freedom and anti-fascism.
The monument to Zhukov was unveiled in May 2021 at the Square of Fallen Fighters in Banja Luka to mark Victory Day over Fascism.
Korobchenko led the Tatarstan delegation, which today concludes its multi-day visit to Republika Srpska, during which partnerships were agreed upon in fields such as economy, education, and culture.
