Korobchenko: We are ready to work on numerous projects in Srpska

“We are ready to work on a large number of projects in Srpska,” said Oleg Korobchenko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Industry and Trade, following the meeting between the delegations of Srpska and Tatarstan at the Palace of the Republic.

He emphasized the need to build a strong economy.

“Here, we can establish an energy base; you can process metals and engage in secondary metal processing. If we can connect to TurkStream and secure gas here, we can also establish gas processing,” Korobchenko stated at the press conference.

He announced plans to bring companies that specialize in secondary processing.

“These include new materials, petrochemical products, and construction materials. There is a vast number of opportunities,” he noted.

Korobchenko explained that many potential avenues of cooperation were explored.

“We’ve looked into many directions. As I mentioned, there are no business representatives in this delegation, but once we return, we will meet with them and review all the possibilities. Republika Srpska is rich in minerals, mines, human resources, and scientific potential. It also has the capacity to work with the EU. In energy, in industry—we will be able to outline specific projects by the end of our visit,” he said.

In his public address, Korobchenko stressed that the focus should not be on politics, but on the economy.

“Our aim here is to build economic cooperation, but also to strengthen ties in culture, youth, and other fields,” he said.

Following his meeting with President Milorad Dodik and the working session between the delegations of Srpska and Tatarstan, Korobchenko noted that the visiting delegation includes representatives from the ministries of youth and culture, universities, as well as municipalities engaged in industry and agriculture.

“Agriculture is highly developed—we fully meet our republic’s needs and export 30% of agricultural products,” Korobchenko emphasized.

He added that Tatarstan is the most economically developed region in Russia, with a gross regional product exceeding 60 billion dollars.

“We produce and process oil, and we have a developed shipbuilding and aircraft manufacturing industry,” Korobchenko said.

He also noted that Tatarstan has a population of over four million, comprising 175 different nationalities—half Muslim and half Christian—yet coexistence is at an enviable level.
