Republika Srpska partners with the U.S. blockchain industry

Republika Srpska will take part in global initiatives through direct cooperation with the U.S. blockchain industry, it was highlighted during a meeting between Duško Barić, Deputy Director of the Republika Agency for Information and Communication Technologies, and Grant McCarty, Director of the Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI) in Washington.

The Republika Agency told SRNA that Srpska will also engage with centers focused on decentralized finance (DeFi)—a blockchain-based financial services system—as well as research related to central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), and gain access to a network of over 200 industry partners.

The Bitcoin Policy Institute is an organization dedicated to research and the promotion of public policy based on decentralized ledger technologies (DLT) for managing financial flows.

The Bitcoin organization includes, among others, interdisciplinary teams from industry, Stanford University, and research centers, the ICT Agency explained.

During the meeting between Barić and McCarty, discussions also focused on current trends and challenges in decentralized financial systems in the United States, as well as the prospects for Republika Srpska and potential cooperation in this field.

They also explored models of venture fiat + crypto funds for the innovation ecosystem and connections to leading global business hubs and international innovation centers based in Dubai (DMCC) and Zug, Switzerland—the country’s top crypto hub.
