Višković: Schmidt is involved in criminal activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina

Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković stated that legal proceedings will be initiated over Christian Schmidt’s imposed decision in the Viadukt case—possibly even in Germany, the country from which this unelected foreigner originates.

“We will request the involvement of international institutions, as even the Office of the Attorney General has issued a recommendation. The bank account is located in the Channel Islands—Schmidt is apparently trying to pocket a few million before retirement. We will demand a thorough investigation, because these are not budgetary funds but the funds of public enterprises. Mr. Schmidt, today you have crossed the line and revealed your true face—direct involvement in criminal activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” said Višković at a press conference in Banja Luka.

Višković emphasized that Republika Srpska has never evaded its obligations, but in this case, the lawsuit is against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“This has derogated the Fiscal Council, the Ministry, the Presidency of BiH, and all state-level institutions—which, as of today, effectively no longer exist,” he stated, adding that Schmidt is usurping institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

He reiterated that Schmidt has absolutely no legal right to impose decisions, yet Bosnia and Herzegovina appears to be the only country where the rule of law does not apply.

Višković reminded that the Government of Republika Srpska today accepted an oral report regarding Schmidt’s imposed decision by which he enacted the Law on Amendments to the Law on the Financing of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

As a reminder, Christian Schmidt this morning imposed a decision in the case of the Slovenian company Viadukt, mandating the withdrawal of funds from excise revenue held in the single account—specifically from the portion belonging to Republika Srpska—as well as a decision instructing the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina to allocate funds for new technologies in the electoral process.
