Dodik: We will sue Bosnia and Herzegovina

President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated today that Christian Schmidt is undermining Bosnia and Herzegovina and that this represents the collapse of the European policy in BiH—one that claims to uphold democratic principles and standards, not arbitrariness and unconstitutional behavior.

Dodik reiterated that Schmidt is not the High Representative, that he has no right to impose decisions, and that everything he does is speculative and harmful.

“The concentration of unlawful decisions by various individuals—especially this disgraceful Schmidt—reflects the failure of EU policy and raises the question of whether there is any point in continuing to engage with European matters. That is a decision we will make ourselves,” Dodik said.

He emphasized that European countries themselves, along with the Brussels administration, have done the most to undermine the so-called European path—by allowing individuals to contaminate the entire decision-making system in BiH, including issues regarding Central Bank funds.

Dodik described the Viadukt case as the “fraud of the century” in Republika Srpska and BiH, involving legal clans from Banja Luka and Sarajevo, international representatives, and now Schmidt himself, who is allegedly working to secure his personal position.

He stressed that Schmidt, even if he were legally appointed, would still not have the authority to impose decisions.

Dodik announced that a lawsuit will be filed against Bosnia and Herzegovina, noting that Schmidt has legally protected himself.

“We’re looking into how to properly initiate proceedings in Germany. He is interfering in the constitutional order of BiH. If the EU had not given its approval, none of this would be happening—yet they preach to us about the rule of law,” the president of Srpska emphasized.

Dodik also stated that from this point forward, the Ministry of the Interior of Republika Srpska will have a standing order to investigate Schmidt and his conduct.

He added that Republika Srpska will call on the U.S. administration to reject the Office of the High Representative (OHR) as an instrument of interference in BiH’s internal affairs, citing recent U.S. officials’ statements that such interference will no longer continue.

“The U.S. has changed its policy, and we support that. But if that is truly the case, they must immediately reject the OHR as a tool for interfering in domestic affairs,” Dodik said.

He reminded that the Americans have stated they will not interfere in internal matters.

“We will ask the Americans what they think of this. Let them clearly state whether this is their policy of continued interference, or if they will reject Schmidt, who has neither the power nor the right to meddle in these matters,” said Dodik.

As a reminder, Christian Schmidt this morning imposed a decision in the case of the Slovenian company Viadukt, mandating that funds be withdrawn from the single account—specifically from the share belonging to Republika Srpska—as well as a decision obligating the Central Bank of BiH to allocate funds for new technologies in the election process.
