President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that the Muslim side is trying to conceal the story of crimes committed against Serbs in Podrinje during the past war, while promoting a false narrative about what happened in Srebrenica in July 1995.
Dodik emphasized that lies undoubtedly characterize the entire Muslim narrative regarding Srebrenica, noting that numerous experts have concluded that genocide did not occur in that location.
On the other hand, he said, the village of Zalazje today shows what happened there 33 years ago—Serb civilians were killed, 3,267 of them in the Podrinje area during 3.5 years of war by armed hordes led by Naser Orić.
He reminded that on Petrovdan 33 years ago, Orić’s units stormed the village of Zalazje and slaughtered innocent Serb residents—69 civilians who were preparing to celebrate one of the biggest Orthodox holidays.
“Among the murdered was Slobodan Ilić, a judge from Srebrenica. According to the book by Ibran Mustafić, Naser Orić said: ‘When the slaughter began, I jumped on him and sat on his chest, pulled out my bayonet, stuck it into one eye and twisted it. He didn’t say a word, didn’t react, and then I did the same with the other eye. I got scared when I saw he wasn’t reacting, and immediately slit his throat,'” Dodik recalled.
The President of Republika Srpska asked if there could be a more direct confession to murder and war crimes than Orić’s words.
“As he slaughtered Slobodan Ilić, he did the same to others—only without boasting about it. In any case, it shows an effort to conceal that story about crimes against Serbs while focusing only on one narrative,” Dodik stressed.
He noted that Orić was recently seen triumphantly leading a group of bikers arriving in Srebrenica.
“That is just one of the farces and injustices we can record, lies that undoubtedly mark the entire Muslim narrative about Srebrenica,” Dodik said.
He recalled a statement by Israeli historian and Holocaust expert Gideon Greif, who said that genocide did not occur in Srebrenica and that this view is increasingly recognized in the global academic community.
He also noted that Efraim Zuroff, director of the Simon Wiesenthal Center in Jerusalem and one of the leading scholars in Holocaust studies, said that what happened in Srebrenica was not genocide, calling the claim ridiculous, and stating it was only propagated because the Clinton, Obama, and Biden administrations, along with part of the EU, wanted to appease Muslims in BiH.
“Those are the direct words of Mr. Zuroff, who is undoubtedly one of the world’s top authorities on Holocaust and genocide research. He says it’s ridiculous, that it doesn’t make sense and is unsustainable,” Dodik emphasized.
He pointed out that the number of people buried in the Potočari cemetery never reached 8,000, adding that several thousand fewer are buried there, despite continuous attempts to inflate that number—yet another indication of falsehood.
“No official institution has ever established the figure of 8,000. That was an invention by Paddy Ashdown, who casually threw out that number to curry favor with the Muslims,” Dodik said.
He added that the Hague Tribunal spoke of a maximum of around 4,300, while the Independent Commission established the number at about 3,500 Muslim victims over the course of three years of war.
The President of Republika Srpska emphasized that the Independent Commission, established by state institutions of Republika Srpska, concluded that a war crime occurred in Srebrenica—not genocide.
“They determined that about 3,500 people were killed throughout the conflict—not, as they claim with lies, in just one week. They buried in Potočari everyone who died in the surrounding area, not only those killed during the Srebrenica operation,” Dodik said.
He added that the peak of it all was when the Bosniak leadership, violating the law and the Constitution of BiH, accepted a farce and falsely represented BiH in supporting the UN Security Council resolution on Srebrenica.
“Even during the vote, it was clear this was a lie. A lie cannot become scientific truth or political reality. Everything they did violated the Constitution of BiH,” Dodik noted.
He added that BiH’s ambassador to the UN Sven Alkalaj, Bosniak Presidency member Denis Bećirović, and Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković had no mandate from BiH to vote in New York on behalf of the country.
“That vote is fake. It’s not genuine, it’s unsustainable. It reflects the real state of BiH—where Muslims try to elevate themselves as the only voice speaking on its behalf,” Dodik concluded.
