Petar Đokić, Minister of Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska, on behalf of the Government of Republika Srpska, and Vasily Valeryevich Kozlov, Deputy Governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast, signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of Republika Srpska and the Government of Sverdlovsk Oblast in Yekaterinburg, Russian Federation.

The purpose of the memorandum is to establish and develop cooperation between the two governments in areas of mutual interest through the exchange of information, promotion of business contacts, and organization of joint events. The cooperation will cover sectors such as industry, energy, foreign economic relations, investments, business cooperation, and professional gatherings, according to the Ministry of Energy and Mining of Republika Srpska.

The memorandum outlines experience sharing in electricity production, modernization of energy infrastructure and improvement of energy efficiency, development and application of renewable energy sources, technology exchange and professional support in mining, vocational training and education in the field of energy and mining, as well as the connection of research institutions.

“By signing this memorandum, we are opening a new dimension of cooperation that we intend to further develop with Sverdlovsk Oblast, especially in the fields of industrial and energy activities, as well as overall economic cooperation. The advancement of energy and mining processes through the application of modern scientific achievements already developed in the Russian Federation is particularly significant,” said Đokić.

He emphasized that the document also foresees the deepening of cooperation between scientific and educational institutions of Republika Srpska and Sverdlovsk Oblast, noting that specific activities are already underway, but that there is room for further improvement and mutual willingness to intensify that cooperation.

“Sverdlovsk Oblast is one of the most developed industrial regions of the Russian Federation. The complementarity between our industries is a key reason for this cooperation. I believe that by overcoming all challenges and restrictions, we will be able to cooperate more directly and without obstacles with the Russian Federation in the period ahead,” Đokić stated.

He reminded that cooperation with Sverdlovsk Oblast, as well as everything outlined in the signed memorandum, takes place within the framework of relations established through the intensive and substantive communication between the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

“On this occasion as well, we express our gratitude to the Russian Federation, the Russian people, and especially President Putin for the attention they pay to Republika Srpska, as well as for the support they have provided so far and the support they are ready to provide in the future,” concluded Đokić.
