Football Club Borac is celebrating its 99th anniversary today. To mark the occasion, at 8 p.m. on the plaza in front of the north stand of the City Stadium, the team’s lineup for the upcoming season will be presented, alongside the screening of a documentary titled 1740.
The symbolically titled film (referring to the number of minutes Borac played on the European stage last season) tells the story of the greatest success in the club’s history in UEFA competitions.
This sports collective was founded on this day, July 4, 1926, under the name Radnički Sportski Klub Borac.
The founding assembly was held at the café “Putnik,” located on the corner of what was then Martić Street (now Srpska Street), and Rudolf Rudi Hiter was elected as the first president.
