First Rakija Festival in the Vrbanja Valley Announced

The Tourist Organization of the Municipality of Kotor Varoš, in cooperation with the Association of Fruit Producers and under the patronage of the local government, is organizing the first-ever Rakija Festival titled “Through the Vrbanja Valley”, to be held on July 9.

The main goal of the event is to support and promote local production, while also connecting producers with potential buyers and rakija enthusiasts.

The festival will take place starting at 7:00 p.m. on the newly renovated city promenade, where visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy free tastings of premium, authentic rakijas from Kotor Varoš, neighboring municipalities, and the wider region.

Nemanja Knežević, director of the Tourist Organization of Kotor Varoš, stated that the deadline for sample submissions has now passed.
“Exhibitors will present the finest varieties of rakija, including plum brandy, Williams pear, quince brandy, and other specialties, many of which have already won awards at both domestic and international fairs,” Knežević added.

This unique event offers all lovers of rakija the chance to explore the diverse flavors and aromas of traditional homemade spirits and to learn more about the production methods passed down through generations.

“Don’t miss this special opportunity to enjoy top-quality rakija and support our local producers. The goal is not competition, but the exchange of knowledge and experience,” Knežević emphasized.
