The National Assembly of Republika Srpska is expected to discuss, during its fifteenth regular session, the declaration proposal submitted by President Milorad Dodik concerning migrants. The text of the proposal states that the Assembly categorically rejects any plan that entails the establishment of accommodation centers for migrants on the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and particularly on the territory of Republika Srpska.
In the Proposal of the Declaration on the Rejection of Initiatives by the Government of the United Kingdom, the EU, and its Member States on the Establishment of Migrant Centers on the Territory of BiH and Opposition to Any Forced Resettlement of Migrants in Republika Srpska, the National Assembly asserts that it rejects all potential acts, negotiations, plans, or memoranda that would involve BiH in such processes without the explicit consent of Republika Srpska.
The text further states that the National Assembly of Republika Srpska categorically rejects and opposes any plan, initiative, or bilateral agreement that involves the establishment of centers for the accommodation of migrants, returnees, asylum seekers, or persons whose status has been denied for any reason in the United Kingdom and EU Member States, on the territory of BiH—particularly on the territory of Republika Srpska.
Through this declaration proposal, the National Assembly calls on all Serb political representatives in the joint institutions of BiH to immediately, publicly, and unequivocally reject any participation in such plans, and, if any communication with the Government of the United Kingdom or EU countries has occurred, to inform the public of its contents.
The proposed agenda of the regular session includes 30 items, among them the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on Health Care under urgent procedure, and the Draft Law on the Protection of Public Health from Tobacco and Other Smoking Products.
Before the regular session, the 23rd special session is expected to be held with a single agenda item—Information on the state of public enterprises in Republika Srpska, proposed by members of the National Assembly.
The special session is scheduled to begin tomorrow at 10:00 a.m., and the regular session will follow upon its conclusion.
