Former governor of the U.S. state of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich, stated that Operation Halyard served to renew the friendship between the American and Serb peoples during the most difficult times, and he believes the same will apply to the relationship between Republika Srpska and the United States—specifically between President Donald Trump and Milorad Dodik.
“This represents an exchange of experiences between the Serb and American peoples during the hardest times of war. It is very important to explain to the American people that these two nations share a common experience forged in wartime, and to use that as inspiration to renew the friendship between the American and Serb peoples, as well as between Republika Srpska and the United States. I believe the relationship between President Donald Trump and Milorad Dodik will reflect that same bond,” Blagojevich said.
He stated that it was a great honor to feel the Serb hospitality, warmth, friendship, and love in Boljanić.
Blagojevich noted that the Operation Halyard commemoration bridges the past with the present and serves as an important reminder for the American people—of a heroic and unique connection.
