President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that next week he will once again have the opportunity to meet with the most important officials of the Russian Federation to discuss cooperation.
“Russia remains one of the world’s stable economies,” Dodik emphasized, adding that Republika Srpska wishes to continue its strong, partnership-based relations with the Russian Federation.
He expressed gratitude to Russia for its continued attention and support to Republika Srpska, even under complex circumstances.
“We are a small community, but I am proud of how important figures in the Russian Federation—from President Putin to nearly everyone—view us as a significant strategic partner. They told us that our relations are on a strategic level. When Russians say that, it means something; when it comes from the West, it means nothing,” Dodik stated.
He said that Russia and its President Vladimir Putin have found ways to strengthen the economy despite the increasing number of sanctions imposed by the West, which, according to Dodik, ended up backfiring on those who imposed them.
“The Russian Federation had every right to launch the special military operation because Russians living in Ukraine were severely endangered—their language and script were taken away, their churches were seized, they were persecuted and attacked, and fake peace agreements were made, like the Minsk Agreement. Western Europe is behind all of it, and now two brotherly nations are at war,” Dodik told reporters in Šekovići.
He added that Europe has lost its competitiveness.
“It can no longer compete with China, nor with the United States, and perhaps not even with Russia, which just a few years ago was the world’s 11th largest economy, and is now ranked fourth,” Dodik concluded.
