Dodik: I will submit information to the National Assembly to take a position on the issue of migrants

President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that in the coming days he will send information to the National Assembly so that it may take a position on the United Kingdom’s intention to deport migrants to Western Balkan countries.

Dodik emphasized that it is evident some people at the level of BiH—primarily Muslims, but also members of the opposition from Republika Srpska—are already aware of this.

“When you attend a meeting and the UK’s Foreign Secretary tells you they want cooperation with BiH in the fields of culture, economy, and tourism, and that they see BiH as a partner in resolving migration issues, it becomes clear what this is actually about,” Dodik told RT Balkan.

He pointed out that no stronger proof is needed than the statement of the UK Prime Minister, who said he wants to send migrants from the UK to BiH—migrants who were denied asylum, including individuals who have violated the law in the UK and have been convicted.

Dodik stressed that this is being done so the UK doesn’t have to spend its own state funds, essentially wanting BiH to deal with those migrants, and reiterated a clear position:

“There will be no migrants here. We do not accept this. Republika Srpska will not give consent to any agreement with others regarding migrants. They are unnecessary and unwelcome here in that sense,” Dodik stated.

He explained that this has nothing to do with race, ethnicity, or nationality, but solely with preserving the system and security.

“It’s all absurd. The UK—and not only them, but the EU as well—want the same. You’ve heard the new German chancellor say that the issue of migrants must be addressed. As you can see, migrants are also a problem in the U.S.,” said Dodik.

He added that now they want to serve up the same scenario here, so that in a year or two, we are facing the same situation in our streets.
