Premiere of the play “All We Couldn’t Say” on June 18 at Prijedor Theatre

Prijedor Theatre will premiere the play All We Couldn’t Say on June 18, written by Marko Dukić from Banja Luka and directed by Slobodan Perišić.

The theatre’s director, Srđan Knjeginjić, stated that Dukić’s text was selected in a competition organized by the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska as part of the “Speak Out Loud” project.

He added that the production is now in its final stages.

“We are pleased to be part of this Ministry’s project because supporting local playwrights is crucial not only for Republika Srpska but for any state in general. The Ministry recognized the importance of that, and we followed that idea,” Knjeginjić said at a press conference in Prijedor.

Director Slobodan Perišić noted that after Gradiška two years ago, this time the Ministry chose Prijedor to realize a project focused on nurturing domestic dramatic texts, with this one being selected as the best among 42 submissions.

He explained that the theme of the play revolves around heritage and also touches on spirituality, ecology, and community.

Actor Darko Stojić, who also composed the music, said he had collaborated with Perišić several times and described the process as very interesting and dynamic, without major obstacles.

Actress Katarina Rendić expressed her gratitude to Prijedor Theatre for inviting her to join another project, following her performance in the children’s play Gvozden earlier this season. She noted this is her first dramatic role since graduating from the academy and praised the clarity and structure of the creative process.

Actress Mirela Predojević emphasized the importance of this project due to the Ministry’s support and the inclusion of young authors.

“This was a solid foundation, but the director implemented a lot into it. We supported the direction it took. The story deals with things that are currently happening around us,” Predojević said.

Actor Dean Batoz reminded everyone that this year marks 10 years since the deaths of fellow theatre actors Radenko Bilbija and Rade Stupar, dedicating his role in the play to their memory.

The set design is by Vladimir Vanja Vlačina, and the costumes are by Andrej Stojić.
