Dodik: Republika Srpska’s policy hits the core — confirmed in Moscow

President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik stated that his participation in the international conference on global security held in Moscow confirmed that the policy of Republika Srpska addresses fundamental issues and further affirms the strategic partnership with the Russian Federation.

“If Russia says that Republika Srpska is cooperating and is being treated as a strategic partner, that’s not the same as when the West tells you, ‘you’re good guys’ — this goes far beyond that. If Russia has said it — and it has — then it means that a strategic partner gains benefits, and that various guarantees for Republika Srpska follow,” Dodik emphasized.

He noted that, based on his participation and listening to the statements of other delegates at the conference, Republika Srpska has “hit the core,” as its policies align with what was being discussed at the event.

“I had the opportunity, in my role as an honorary guest, to address the conference right after the host’s opening remarks and present the positions we consider important,” Dodik told reporters this evening in Gradiška.

He added that the conference, focused on global security and attended by 126 delegations from 106 countries — including ministers of security, intelligence, and other sectors — featured the presence of China’s second-highest-ranking official in charge of nearly all security, police, and military structures.

“It was also an opportunity to meet with important figures in Moscow’s leadership. Notably visible was the meeting with the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergey Shoigu. This is the most trusted council of President Vladimir Putin,” Dodik said.

He stressed that Republika Srpska is given such a level of treatment that officials in Moscow describe cooperation with Republika Srpska as being of strategic importance.

Dodik concluded by contrasting his visit to Russia, with whom Srpska shares a strategic partnership, with the opposition’s attendance at meetings organized by the Office of the High Representative (OHR), which he described as submissive.

“Let the people decide what they believe is better,” Dodik said.
