Secretary of the Russian Security Council, Sergei Shoigu, stated that Russia supports Republika Srpska and is focused on developing cooperation based on the principles of the Dayton Agreement.
“We are committed to expanding cooperation aimed at development, grounded in the Dayton principles of sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the equality of the three constituent peoples and two entities with broad constitutional powers,” Shoigu said during his meeting with the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, in Moscow.
Shoigu emphasized that the goal of the Western pressure on Republika Srpska is to remove patriotic forces from power, reports Sputnik.
“We see the pressure the West is exerting on Republika Srpska — on you personally, your associates, and even your family members. The goal of such a policy is clear: to remove from power the patriotic forces that you lead,” Shoigu stated.
He described the verdict issued by the unconstitutional Court of BiH against Dodik as part of a broader campaign targeting Republika Srpska and the entire Serb people.
“Republika Srpska’s independent stance and its refusal to submit to external influence obstruct the West’s neocolonial strategy of maintaining total control over the region,” Shoigu emphasized.
Dodik and Shoigu had previously participated in the International Conference of High Representatives for Security Issues in Moscow.
