Russian and Belarusian media have reported on the statement made by Milorad Dodik, President of Republika Srpska, during the International Meeting of High Representatives for Security Issues in Moscow. Dodik stated that Russia, through its special military operation, is defending the principles of international law, and that the leadership of Republika Srpska is being persecuted by the West due to its friendship with Russia.
The Russian portal Rambler (rambler.ru) quoted Dodik as saying that Russia is fighting against a system being imposed in international relations, and that the special military operation is absolutely justified.
The news portal Lenta (lenta.ru) reported Dodik’s statement that the authorities of Republika Srpska are facing political persecution from the West because of their friendly attitude toward Russia.
“Republika Srpska and Serbia were the only ones in all of Europe that did not impose sanctions on Russia after the start of the special military operation, and it is precisely for this reason that the leadership of Republika Srpska is now facing political persecution by the West,” Dodik emphasized.
Lenta also reminded readers that Dodik had previously said Russia recognized in time the threat from the West, which sought to seize its resources, and rightly launched the special military operation in Ukraine. He also stated that Western countries were involved in the conflict from the beginning and had “orchestrated the Ukrainian conflict.”
Komsolmolskaya Pravda also relayed Dodik’s remarks, stating that Russia is not only defending itself in the special operation, but also fighting for international law, and that the decision by the Russian Federation to launch the special military operation in Ukraine is fully justified.
“Russia is not just defending itself; it is defending the principles of international law and international relations. Russia is fighting against the system being imposed on us in international relations,” Dodik stressed.
The Belarusian news agency BELTA also reported Dodik’s words that the leadership of Republika Srpska is being politically persecuted by the West due to its friendly stance toward Russia.
“Republika Srpska and Serbia were the only ones in all of Europe that refused to impose sanctions on the Russian Federation after the beginning of the special military operation, and precisely because of that, the leadership of Republika Srpska is now under political persecution,” BELTA quoted Dodik.
The forum is being held from May 27 to 29 in Moscow, at the National Center “Russia,” under the chairmanship of the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Sergey Shoigu.
It brings together 126 delegations from 104 countries, including members of BRICS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, ASEAN, the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), the Arab League, the African Union, the CSTO, and other international organizations.
