Košarac: Dodik offered realistic solutions for the future of BiH

Staša Košarac, Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers, stated that the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, in a courageous and statesmanlike address before the National Assembly on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Agreement, offered realistic political solutions for the future of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

“Any kind of imposition, sanctions, or conditioning of development projects is certainly not an acceptable path in the 21st century,” Košarac emphasized.

He added that, unfortunately, it is evident that certain centers within the EU are neither ready to listen nor capable of understanding the current geopolitical moment—not only in BiH, but also in the broader region and within the Union itself.

“The non-paper circulated by Germany and France reflects a deep misunderstanding of the actual situation on the ground, as well as a continued reliance on a flawed approach based on pressure and conditionality. The Serb people and Republika Srpska have never responded favorably to such methods—and never will,” Košarac stated.

He emphasized that the leadership of Republika Srpska believes solely in dialogue and agreement among domestic political actors, without tutelage or external interference. He noted that in his speech, President Dodik did not only propose a solution to the current constitutional-political crisis, but also a path for the future of BiH.

Košarac also mentioned that during his official visit to the People’s Republic of China, he had the opportunity to meet with numerous Chinese officials and witness firsthand the impressive level of development of this friendly country.

He underlined that China demonstrates a willingness to cooperate on the basis of mutual respect, shared interests, and benefits—without political agendas, blackmail, or pressure.

“This is the model of cooperation that Republika Srpska values and prioritizes, as it is based on equality, respect, and genuine partnership,” Košarac wrote on Instagram.

He concluded by saying that Republika Srpska remains committed to peace, stability, and development—but exclusively on foundations that respect its constitutional competences and political reality, not on constructs that ignore the will of the constituent peoples and real life in BiH.
