The “Ljubica” Theatre Festival in Gradiška is reaching its conclusion. Tonight, awards will be presented to the most successful participants. On the final competitive evening, the “Prijedor Theatre” performed One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, leaving a strong impression on the Gradiška audience.
The play, based on Ken Kesey’s iconic novel, adapted by Jelena Sinković and directed by Goran Damjanac, offers a distinct interpretation from the well-known film version familiar to the audience.
The burden of the famous film adaptation was felt by the actors on stage. Mirela Predojević, who portrayed Nurse Ratched, admitted she had difficulty stepping into the role.
However, the dramatization of the script, tailored to fit the “Prijedor Theatre” ensemble, greatly helped her and the rest of the cast ease that burden.
Tonight, on the festival’s closing night, the professional jury will present awards to the most accomplished participants.
In the festival’s revue program, actors Sloboda Mićalović and Igor Đorđević will perform the play Frankie and Johnny.
