Srebrenica Days begin

The traditional cultural and sports event Srebrenica Days officially opened last night in Srebrenica with a performance and presentation by children from the “Poletarac” kindergarten.

In a packed hall of the Cultural Center, 50 children delighted the audience with a diverse and engaging cultural-entertainment program.

The event was opened by the Mayor of Srebrenica, Miloš Vučić, after which the National Park “Drina” from Srebrenica presented a photo exhibition in the National Library.

The exhibition features a large number of photographs showcasing the park’s unique landscapes and historical monuments.

Srebrenica Days will continue tomorrow with sports competitions in Skelani and will run until Monday, June 2.

The event program includes numerous sports tournaments, presentations of student achievements, folklore showcases, book promotions, and presentations of the region’s tourism potential, industrial capacities, game resources, historical and archaeological monuments, along with various exhibitions, quizzes, fishing competitions, and a music concert.

Around 1,000 participants are expected to take part in the activities.

The first Srebrenica Days event was held in 2003, though there were interruptions due to floods and the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event is organized by local schools, cultural institutions, associations, and sports clubs, under the patronage of the Municipality of Srebrenica.
