Nature and hiking enthusiasts have a new reason to visit the municipality of Ribnik, as a hiking trail to Šiški kamen—one of the most beautiful destinations in the area—has recently been cleared and marked.
This initiative, carried out by the Sports-Hiking and Ecological Society (SPED) “Mačkica kamen,” opens the door for visitors to explore the hidden beauty of Mount Šiša, located in the western part of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Šiški kamen, situated at approximately 1,300 meters above sea level, is a spectacular rocky cliff with a small cave at its base. From the top, visitors can enjoy breathtaking panoramic views stretching for kilometers.
Mount Šiša is known for its dense coniferous and deciduous forests, interspersed with lush meadows. The highest peak of the mountain is Razvršje (1,389 m). This area is a true natural gem, rich in diverse flora and fauna. Šiša is home to many wild animals, birds, and rodents, and nature lovers can also find an abundance of medicinal herbs.
The municipality of Ribnik, known for its pristine nature, crystal-clear rivers, and dense forests, is increasingly recognized as a destination for active vacations. In addition to hiking, the Ribnik and Sana rivers and their tributaries are a paradise for anglers, especially fly-fishing enthusiasts.
