Cvijanović: OSCE statement is a hypocritical distortion of facts

The Serb member and Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, stated that the OSCE’s announcement regarding the adoption of the Law on Financing of Political Parties in the National Assembly of Republika Srpska is a hypocritical distortion of facts.

Responding to a Srna journalist’s question to comment on the OSCE’s call to reconsider the adoption of the law—claiming it undermines the rights of all political actors in Republika Srpska—Cvijanović responded with a counterquestion: “Is it not an undermining of democracy, the Constitution, and the Dayton Agreement when an unelected foreigner changes laws, suspends constitutions, and sanctions political parties or democratically elected leaders?”

“Or is it not an infringement on party rights when Christian Schmidt abolishes funding for parties that oppose his usurping and anti-Dayton actions?” she asked.

She observed that everything in Bosnia and Herzegovina has been brought to absurdity and, in plain terms, has “gone to hell.”

“This OSCE statement is shameless. It’s just like when the EU says it will talk to everyone, including SNSD, but not Milorad Dodik. That’s the same as if SNSD said it will talk to the EU and everyone except EU officials—then listed them by name and added the EU ambassador. Sounds stupid, doesn’t it?” Cvijanović concluded.
