At the National Library in Novi Grad today, author Berislav Blagojević from Banja Luka presented his short novel for children titled Library Cats Sleep Upside Down during a literary class.
This is Blagojević’s second book for children, following Meet Gagrin, the Craziest Dog in the Universe, which has had three editions, a theatrical adaptation, and an audiobook version.
The author noted that his new work differs from the first not only because the main characters are cats, but also because the story is set in an urban environment — a library.
He added that he draws most of his inspiration from his pets, observing them and “stealing” ideas.
Blagojević stated that the plan is to present the short novel, which was published two months ago, in Banja Luka and Doboj as well.
The illustrator is Bratislav Kostić, and the publisher is the Institute for Textbooks and Teaching Resources of Republika Srpska.
Berislav Blagojević holds a master’s degree in geographical sciences. He writes poetry, prose, essays, and literary criticism, and has published 11 works to date.
