The President of the Government of Republika Srpska, Radovan Visković, stated today at Jahorina that the Government’s measures since 2018 have preserved jobs, created new ones, and increased salaries for employees, with no fear of unforeseen spikes.
Visković reminded of the key problems of Republika Srpska and its economy when he joined the government in 2018.
“The first point in the exposé was an insufficiently competitive economy, a financially overstretched healthcare sector that had accumulated losses, an inefficient public sector, and an education system not aligned with the market,” Visković recalled.
He mentioned that then followed two years of the coronavirus pandemic, and after that, the Russia-Ukraine conflict, which caused a series of problems.
According to him, the government also took measures related to family support and pro-natalist policies, as well as assistance for purchasing the first real estate.
“Approximately 400 million KM annually from the budget is invested in the real sector through measures,” said Visković during the panel “Conversation with the Prime Minister,” which also included Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina, Boško Vučurević, and President of the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska, Pero Ćorić.
Visković said that the coverage of imports by exports is 68%, that exports have increased by more than 6%, and imports have increased by more than 9%.
