Cvijanović meets with USA senators

The Serb member and Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, met today in Washington with U.S. Republican senators Marsha Blackburn and Bernie Moreno in separate meetings.

During the cordial talks with the senators, Cvijanović expressed full support for the policies of the new U.S. administration led by President Donald Trump, which are focused on dialogue and the peaceful resolution of conflicts in Europe and the world.

She emphasized that this is fully aligned with the positions of the institutions of Republika Srpska, which are committed to maintaining peace and stability in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region.

In the context of the 30th anniversary of the signing of the Dayton Peace Agreement, Cvijanović highlighted the importance of fully respecting the agreement and its annexes, as well as the constitutional position of all constituent peoples and different levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

She expressed hope that Bosnia and Herzegovina will begin to live a democratic life without the dictates of unelected foreigners who impose laws and suspend constitutions, and also that the country will develop independently in the future, using its own democratic capacities.

On this occasion, Cvijanović welcomed U.S. President Donald Trump’s announcement that the United States would no longer engage in nation-building or interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.

Later in the day, meetings are scheduled in the U.S. House of Representatives with American congressmen.
