Serbia believes that solutions to internal problems in Bosnia and Herzegovina must be sought through the inclusion of all relevant and democratically elected political actors in dialogue, but also with full respect for the competences that belong to Republika Srpska, said Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić during a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.
Referring to the situation in BiH, Đurić emphasized during the meeting in Belgrade that Serbia consistently supports the Dayton Peace Agreement and the territorial integrity of its neighbor, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Đurić also briefed Fidan on the situation in Kosovo and Metohija, stressing that it is imperative for the dialogue between Belgrade and Priština—which has been blocked for years due to unilateral actions by the Prime Minister of the self-proclaimed Kosovo, Albin Kurti—to resume with the mediation of the European Union, according to a statement from Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
He expressed hope that Turkey will demonstrate understanding for Serbia’s positions and contribute to creating a positive atmosphere for the continuation of productive dialogue between Belgrade and Priština on normalizing relations.
The Turkish Foreign Minister confirmed his country’s participation in the specialized exhibition Expo 2027, which will be hosted by Belgrade, and extended an official invitation to Minister Đurić to visit Ankara.
