The Mayor of Trebinje, Mirko Ćurić, met today with the Ambassador of Switzerland to BiH, Gabriela Derighetti, to discuss cooperation in several areas, including irrigation systems, the cultural sector, and tourism.
Ćurić noted that the City of Trebinje has had long-standing cooperation with the Swiss Embassy and the agencies supported by the Swiss Government.
“First and foremost, I’m referring to the MEG project, which is of great importance to us. We expect its continuation in the near future, particularly regarding the water supply project toward Ivanica, which is supported by Switzerland,” said Ćurić.
He also reminded that the organization “Caritas” has been active in the city through various projects. One of the most recent supported initiatives was the wine festival. Ćurić added that today’s meeting also addressed support for an energy efficiency project.
“We also opened discussions on other topics in the fields of culture and various well-known events present here. We expect continued support in the future, as well as support in other areas, whether related to sports, infrastructure, or the wine festival,” Ćurić added.
Ambassador Derighetti told reporters that this visit is part of a broader tour across BiH focused on collaboration with municipalities and cities.
“One of the topics is irrigation systems, which represent a key development sector in Trebinje. Together with the mayor and his professional team, we are seeking solutions for further progress in the cultural sector and tourism,” said Derighetti.
