Staša Košarac, Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers, stated today during a meeting with Zsolt Bunford, Special Envoy of the Hungarian Prime Minister for the Western Balkans, that Bosnia and Herzegovina is not facing a security crisis but rather a political and constitutional one—caused by the anti-Dayton and unconstitutional actions of the illegitimate foreigner Christian Schmidt.
Košarac emphasized the excellent bilateral relations between Republika Srpska and Hungary, thanks primarily to the cooperation initiated by President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.
He underlined that Orbán maintains a balanced and objective approach to issues in BiH and expressed gratitude to Hungary for its principled stance and respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement and international law, according to the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of the Council of Ministers.
The meeting noted that strong political relations provide a positive framework for further enhancing economic cooperation between Republika Srpska, the Federation of BiH, and Hungary—particularly in agriculture, energy, and tourism.
Košarac stressed that Republika Srpska’s position remains principled and unchanged, focusing on the full implementation of the Dayton Agreement and internal agreement among legitimate representatives of the three constituent peoples and two entities, without foreign interventionism.
He emphasized that officials from Republika Srpska consistently support and advocate for the need for internal agreement on all matters in BiH—a position aligned with the views of the UN Security Council, Russia, China, and the United States.
“Our commitment to dialogue was reaffirmed through the Declaration on the Regulation of Relations in BiH, which we presented yesterday in Doboj to all parliamentary parties. It expresses the need for internal dialogue without foreign interference, respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement and the rights of the three constituent peoples, as well as the stabilization of the political situation and progress on the EU path,” Košarac noted.
Unfortunately, Košarac added, political representatives from the Federation of BiH failed to understand this need and avoided the opportunity for an agreement.
He expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Orbán, as well as to Hungarian institutions and the Hungarian people, for their friendship, assistance, support, and cooperation in all areas.
The meeting in Sarajevo was also attended by the Hungarian Ambassador to BiH, Krisztián Pósa.
