Official program of the 27th Teatar Fest “Petar Kočić” presented

The program of the 27th Teatar Fest “Petar Kočić”, one of the most significant theatre events in the region, was officially presented this evening at the National Theatre of Republika Srpska.

The festival will be held from June 1 to 13, 2025. As of this year, Teatar Fest “Petar Kočić” is held under the patronage of the President of Republika Srpska.

Part of the tickets for the ballet spectacle “Ballet Night” at the “Borik” sports hall will be gifted by the President of Republika Srpska to teachers, employees in cultural institutions, top high school students, and university students.

“In this way, through such events, we aim to connect cultural and educational institutions and highlight how important they are for our society. Additionally, based on an initiative from the National Theatre of Republika Srpska, special student cards will be introduced, allowing free access to cultural institutions in Republika Srpska. Furthermore, one million KM has been secured from the President’s budget this year for the reconstruction of the National Theatre building—our way of supporting one of our oldest national institutions,” said the President of Republika Srpska in a message to the National Theatre.

The director of the National Theatre of Republika Srpska, Dr. Dijana Grbić, expressed gratitude for the President’s support.

“We are especially pleased that the initiative from our theatre has been recognized as a significant contribution to the development of cultural life in Republika Srpska. Teatar Fest ‘Petar Kočić’ has for years served as a bridge of cultural exchange in the region and as a platform for promoting contemporary theatrical production.”

The competitive segment of the program will feature five productions from leading theatres across the region, competing for the festival’s prestigious awards.

The accompanying program includes several notable segments, such as: “Ballet Night” performed by the National Theatre in Belgrade, masterclasses by prominent regional directors, the promotion of the book “Our Days” by Željko Stjepanović, and an inclusive staged reading of the play “Porters (or The Disconsolate)” by Zoran Todorović.

The festival will close on June 13 with a spectacular performance of “Pride and Prejudice”, produced by the Madlenianum Opera and Theatre, on the stage of Kastel Fortress.

The 2025 edition of Teatar Fest “Petar Kočić” is made possible thanks to institutions and companies that recognize the importance of culture in community development.

The festival is supported by partners: MF Group, Verano Motors, Led Media, Vivia, the Investment and Development Bank of Republika Srpska, Autoputevi RS, and Integral Inženjering.
