The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković, extended congratulations to all journalists, editorial teams, editors, and the Journalists’ Association of Republika Srpska on the occasion of May 3 – World Press Freedom Day.
“On the occasion of May 3 – World Press Freedom Day, I extend my congratulations to all journalists, media professionals, editors, and representatives of media associations in Republika Srpska. Freedom of the media is one of the core values upon which modern society rests, and the journalistic profession plays a special role in informing the public and presenting diverse views and opinions,” Višković wrote.
In times of numerous challenges, he emphasized, responsibility, professionalism, and dedication to truth are vital, as they are the foundation of credibility in the media space.
“Therefore, the Government of Republika Srpska is committed to working together with the media community on drafting a new media law, aimed at better protection of journalists’ rights, improving working conditions, and regulating the media landscape in Srpska. Wishing you success in your responsible work, I congratulate you on World Press Freedom Day, with wishes for good health and professional fulfillment,” reads the message from the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska, Radovan Višković.
