Trebinje has become one of the most visited destinations in the region this holiday season. For May Day, the city was flooded with tourists enjoying the sunny weather, diverse offerings, and natural beauty of this Herzegovinian gem.
Accommodation capacities were completely booked, and the most frequented spots were bustling with people.
The area under the plane trees, picnic sites along the Trebišnjica River, and local viewpoints were particularly lively, as many visitors spent the holiday walking, taking photos, and tasting Herzegovinian specialties.
Among the many guests was the Stanković family from Belgrade, visiting Trebinje for the first time.
“Our friends recommended we come, and we have no regrets. The city is beautiful, peaceful, the people are hospitable, and the food is excellent. Even though it’s crowded, everything runs perfectly. We’ll definitely be back in the summer,” said Aleksandra, as reported by Trebinje Danas.
A group of young people from Novi Sad chose to spend the holiday in Herzegovina.
“Everything is nearby — the sea, the mountains — and Trebinje is truly unique. It has soul. We visited the Old Town, Gračanica, and now we’re headed for a riverside picnic. A perfect day,” said Marko.
Tourists from Slovenia said they discovered Trebinje by chance, but were thrilled.
“We came from Dubrovnik on a day trip, but we’re staying at least two more days. The city is authentic, prices are affordable, and the people are warm. We’ll recommend it to everyone.”
The festive atmosphere could be felt throughout the city, and local services and hospitality providers are doing their best to ensure all guests leave with fond memories from the southernmost city of Republika Srpska.
