“I am normally performing my duties,” said Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković, commenting on media reports suggesting a possible plan for his arrest.
He stressed that he does not wish for any incident, but warned that his security detail will defend itself if necessary.
“In the alleged arrest team, there are no Croats or Serbs—only Bosniaks backed by the British,” Višković said.
He noted that such reports are not new, as similar stories have been coming from the Federation of BiH nearly every day over the past month.
“A special unit of several dozen British special forces operatives has arrived here, and the group reportedly includes individuals from the Federation’s Ministry of Interior—even though, under the BiH Constitution, they cannot cross the inter-entity boundary,” Višković stated.
He urged officials from the Federation of BiH to come to their senses and reiterated that Republika Srpska does not want an incident—but will defend itself if necessary.
“This is not about Radovan Višković as a person, but about the Prime Minister’s office. If such a scenario occurs, it would lead to the collapse of the Government of Republika Srpska. And if the Prime Minister has not transferred his authority in writing or verbally to someone else, no future government sessions could be held. That would jeopardize life itself, the payment of salaries, pensions, benefits for veterans and others,” Višković explained, adding that his arrest would cause the greatest harm to Republika Srpska.
He stated that his security is handled by the competent services and professionals who are paid according to the law.
“Whether or not enhanced protection is needed is up to those services to decide,” Višković added.
He said that any prosecutor who wants to question him should come to the premises of the Ministry of Interior of Republika Srpska, where he is ready to appear and answer all questions.
“Let them transfer the case to the Republika Srpska judiciary. I am ready to respond and appear whenever summoned,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
Višković concluded by stating that he will not allow the institutions of Republika Srpska to be humiliated, nor will he allow Federation media to write stories about the Prime Minister being handcuffed, detained, or mistreated.
