Eagles women’s basketball team to defend Premier League BiH title

The Eagles women’s basketball team will defend their Premier League of Bosnia and Herzegovina title after defeating Čelik 88–70 last night in Zenica, winning the semifinal series 2–0.

The home team started strong, leading by 12 points after the first quarter (24–12). However, Orlovi gradually closed the gap and led 58–56 after three quarters.

The reigning champions delivered an excellent performance in the final quarter to secure their place in the championship final with an undefeated record.

Safiya Lee led Eagles with 33 points, while Danijela Mitrović added 21. For Čelik, Amna Isaković scored 17 points. Orlovi played once again without Hana Predojević and Ana Pavlović, and will finish the season without Sira Carter, who was injured in the first semifinal game.

Due to her strong performances this season, Hana Predojević received a call-up from Marina Maljković to join the senior Serb national team. Hana has previously played in all youth categories for Serbia and was a regular at European championships.

Eagles now await their opponent in the finals. The other semifinal series features Lavovi and Play Off, with the team from Brčko leading 1–0.

The second game of that series will be played tomorrow (May 1) in Sarajevo at 5 PM.
