Budimir: Marta Kos does not wish well for Republika Srpska

The Minister for Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education of Republika Srpska, Željko Budimir, stated that the opposition in Srpska is acting against the interests of the Republic.

Budimir emphasized that the opposition is seeking allies who are not true allies and assessed that the EU Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, does not wish well for Republika Srpska, nor for BiH, as she is encouraging political persecution resulting from the actions of BiH’s judicial institutions, whose goal is to decapitate Srpska.

On the other hand, Budimir said, the opposition knows that the source of sovereignty in any country is the democratic will of the people — not the commissioners of European institutions, and certainly not Marta Kos.

“Who does Marta Kos represent and on whose behalf is she speaking? That is the major question here,” Budimir said.

Budimir stressed that it is important to note that the leadership of Srpska has the support of the people and that this will remain the case.

“For all those who meddle and interfere in the internal affairs of BiH, they not only fail to contribute to solutions and internal dialogue, but they also make BiH unstable,” Budimir stated.

EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos had earlier referred to the opposition in Republika Srpska as a “bright spot,” saying that it “is becoming more constructive, which could lead to a breakthrough in BiH’s negotiation process” with the EU.

She also told Radio Free Europe that the EU cannot impose sanctions on the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, because not all member states agree on that matter.
