The Serb member and Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, will visit the United States next month.
Cvijanović has received a visa to enter the U.S., Euronews BiH reports, citing well-informed sources, despite having been under American sanctions for nearly two years.
She is expected to be in New York at the United Nations headquarters at the beginning of May and later in Dayton, Ohio.
According to Euronews, Cvijanović will attend part of the spring session of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, which will be held in Dayton from May 22 to 26 under the title “Dayton Dialogue: Conversations on Peace and Security in the Balkans.”
The program includes two days of discussions on the Dayton Agreement and post-Dayton Bosnia and Herzegovina, with one panel provisionally titled “Next Steps After Dayton? Toward Constitutional Reform in Bosnia and Herzegovina.”
Sanctions imposed by OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) usually entail restrictions on travel, financial transactions, and entry into the United States.
