Višković: Srpska does not recognize Schmidt

Republika Srpska does not recognize Christian Schmidt, and the actions of a foreigner who is illegally operating in Bosnia and Herzegovina are not valid within Republika Srpska, stated Radovan Višković, the Prime Minister of Republika Srpska.

Višković emphasized that we are once again witnessing desperate attempts by Christian Schmidt to legitimize his nonexistent position as a colonial governor through illegal actions and violations of the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina—actions carried out only in one part of the Federation of BiH.

“The entire situation, caused by the criminal conduct of this foreigner who continuously creates crises in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has once again revealed colonial aspirations and the unfulfilled ambitions of the ideologies Schmidt represents. The attempt to cut off funding to the strongest and largest political party in BiH is a direct attack on political and democratic processes in the country. It is an attack on the Constitution, an attack on the right to political representation, and on everything that stems from it,” said Višković.

He stressed that the sanctions aimed at the Alliance of Independent Social Democrats (SNSD) and United Srpska reflect fear of the political and institutional power of these parties, whose goal is to restore the constitutional and legal framework from which Bosnia and Herzegovina has deviated—frameworks to which Christian Schmidt does not belong.

“These two parties most clearly represent and implement the democratic will of the people of Republika Srpska, which is based on freedom and democracy,” Višković said.

“To be precise,” he continued, “the financing of political parties in BiH and Republika Srpska is clearly defined by law. Political parties are entitled to public funds based on the number of mandates won in elections and depending on the level of government. This area is regulated by law and by no other means. Yet Christian Schmidt, through these moves, is illegally pressuring banks in BiH—putting them in a position where they must break the law by potentially redirecting the citizens’ money wherever this German national wishes.”

The Prime Minister of Srpska emphasized that Republika Srpska has so far adopted decisions that protect the Constitution of BiH and its own constitutional position—and it will continue to do so.

“The institutional strength of Republika Srpska is immense and unquestionable, and most importantly, it is rooted in constitutional foundations and legal order. I understand Christian Schmidt’s fears. They stem from the loss of financial privileges and the looming prospect of criminal responsibility. He is well on his way to achieving both,” Višković stated.

“To be precise,” Višković reiterated, “Christian Schmidt is falsely presenting himself, usurping the Constitution of BiH, attempting to manage the finances of the people of BiH, redrawing the electoral will of the people of Republika Srpska, and seeking to seize Srpska’s property.”

“His presence is blocking Bosnia and Herzegovina’s path to the European Union. All of this is being used as a tool for personal vendetta against the Serb people and Republika Srpska. Schmidt’s intention to eliminate the President of Republika Srpska has fully exposed his determination to carry out a final confrontation with the Serb people. The only result of Christian Schmidt’s actions are criminal offenses he continually commits in his desperation to extend his illegal stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Additionally, the greatest damage caused by Schmidt’s actions is the fact that the Federation of BiH has become an entity incapable of functioning independently—making the smooth operation of the country once again impossible,” Višković concluded.
