Mayor of East Sarajevo, Ljubiša Ćosić, expressed deep disappointment over the actions attempted by a state police agency in East Sarajevo.
— I am deeply disappointed by the actions attempted here by a police agency in Istočno Sarajevo — said Ćosić, emphasizing that he has the right to speak out as the host of the city.
— It is unacceptable and impermissible to us — and it will never be allowed — for any detached center of power, which does not wish well to any of the peoples here, to come to East Sarajevo and attempt to carry out repressive actions against the President of Republika Srpska — he stated.
Ćosić pointed out that the president of Srpska was elected with the support of over 300,000 citizens of this country.
— Those citizens continuously provide him with democratic legitimacy, and if there is any place he should feel safe, it is in every part of Republika Srpska, including tonight here in Istočno Sarajevo. There is no scenario in which such provocations can disrupt a meeting intended to benefit the people. I want to make it clear: such actions will not be tolerated — Ćosić concluded.
As a reminder, SIPA inspectors appeared in front of the Administrative Center of the Government of Republika Srpska in East Sarajevo, where President Milorad Dodik was meeting with municipal mayors from East Sarajevo and the mayor himself. The Republika Srpska police intervened and removed the inspectors from the premises.
