The National Library in Srbac organized a public lecture titled “Court proceedings against the President of Republika Srpska and the defense of Srpska’s institutions.”

The event featured speeches by Goran Petronijević and Branimir Nešić, lawyers from the legal defense team of the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

They addressed the audience in Srbac, clarifying the most common misconceptions surrounding the ongoing trial before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

— People must understand that this process is part of a much broader plan that is currently being implemented — nothing about it is accidental. The case was launched against the President of Srpska, Milorad Dodik — not simply against Milorad Dodik as a private individual. That’s a significant distinction, and one many people don’t fully grasp. He is not being prosecuted as a private person, but as the president of a state, for actions he took in his official capacity — explained Petronijević.

Nešić added:

— From the recent political events and the visits of EU representatives to Srpska and BiH, we’ve seen that many of them don’t fully understand what’s going on. Especially the officials and bureaucrats from countries that have undergone recent sovereignist shifts — they need time, as do others, to truly understand the situation Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing — Nešić stated.
