Any decision to arrest the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, would, in our opinion, be catastrophic for the entire region, stated Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić during a public address.
Vučić assessed that the situation in the region is very difficult, especially the political situation in Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, where verdicts have been handed down in Sarajevo against the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, Prime Minister Radovan Višković, and the President of the National Assembly Nenad Stevandić.
“We are exposed to lies from Sarajevo, countless lies about Serbia’s alleged involvement, even about the expulsion of the German minister, whose visit we weren’t even informed about. It is also clear how far some foreign intelligence services have gone when they managed to find, even within our own system, individuals who now, at this very moment, want to interrogate the president of Republika Srpska over some house in Dedinje from 15 or 20 years ago,” Vučić said.
Vučić emphasized that it would be “a great shame for Serbia to participate in the arrest of the president of Republika Srpska.”
“To do the dirty work for those who want to bring down the Serb people and Republika Srpska. The ideas some holders of power here in Serbia are coming up with, allegedly based on international legal assistance and requests from Sarajevo, are beyond comprehension,” Vučić said.
He noted that, for this reason, it is essential to preserve peace and avoid rash decisions.
