Matijašević: We are facing a constitutional and legal crisis in BiH

We are facing a constitutional and legal crisis in Bosnia and Herzegovina, said Darko Matijašević, President of the Movement “Defense of Srpska”, during his appearance on RTRS Morning Program.

“There is a general concern among citizens, but no fear. The security situation is favorable, and everything should be resolved through peaceful dialogue, using all constitutional rights granted to Republika Srpska. A security crisis ultimately brings no benefit to anyone in BiH,” Matijašević emphasized.

He pointed out that this perception is largely shaped by the media narrative coming from federal Sarajevo.

“We have witnessed numerous crises over the past 30 years. What we are seeing now is an attempt to turn a political crisis into a security crisis,” added Matijašević.

Matijašević reminded that, according to the Constitution of BiH itself, Republika Srpska is, along with the Federation of BiH, a signatory of Annex 4 of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

“There are mechanisms through which we can permanently resolve the internal relations in BiH,” Matijašević concluded.
