President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik is participating in a conference in Israel on the fight against antisemitism. Ahead of the conference, he stated that the event is a significant opportunity to highlight historical revisionism aimed at minimizing the scale of the Jewish people’s suffering during the Holocaust and genocide.
“Today in Europe, we no longer have a day marking the Victory over Fascism. It has been erased, undoubtedly as a result of forces pushing for revisionism. What we must do as friends of Israel is to influence our European partners to reinstate Victory Day over Fascism, so that new generations understand what happened. The Jewish people are, globally, the most persecuted, while the Serb people are the most persecuted in the Balkans,” said Dodik.
He emphasized that this shared history of suffering connects the Serbs and Jews, as do other values such as a free society, democracy, and parliamentarism.
“I have never hesitated to support Israel’s and the Jewish people’s efforts to preserve stability and freedom, regardless of the circumstances. This time is no different, and I want to point out the threat of radical Islamism. It’s the same as what we experienced—they attacked on holidays and killed in the same manner,” Dodik said.
He expressed his gratitude for the invitation to participate in the conference and stated that he will not give up his support.
“I support Israel in its efforts to find a lasting solution to security issues,” Dodik concluded.
