The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, has arrived in Kibbutz Be’eri.
He was welcomed by Avida Bahar, who lost his wife and son in the Hamas attack. During the assault on his home carried out by Hamas fighters, Bahar also lost his right leg.
To recall, on October 7, 2023, Hamas launched an attack during a music festival. More than 100 people were killed, and an unknown number of Israelis were taken hostage. Following the massacre, the population of Kibbutz Be’eri was evacuated.
Since December 2024, around 200 residents have returned to Kibbutz Be’eri, while hundreds of others have continued living elsewhere in Israel, including many in Kibbutz Hatzerim.

Serbian citizen Alon Ohel (24) was a resident of Kibbutz Be’eri and one of those taken hostage by Hamas during the music festival on October 7, 2023. Ohel managed to send a message to his family from captivity.
As a reminder, the President of Republika Srpska is attending an international conference on antisemitism today and tomorrow in Jerusalem.
The conference will be attended by several hundred participants, including officials and diplomats from the United States, France, the Netherlands, and Spain.
A reception for officials will be hosted by Israeli President Isaac Herzog, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will speak at the closing plenary session.
Upon his arrival in Israel, the President of Republika Srpska stated that the country demonstrates that freedom and security are priceless, and that a people who know who they are do not accept being targets or subordinates.
“Just as Israel defends itself without apology, Republika Srpska defends its right to exist, to decide, and to preserve the legacy of its ancestors,” Dodik emphasized.
