Goran Bubić, attorney of the President of Republika Srpska, told RTRS that the verdict of the unconstitutional Court of BiH was delivered this morning.
Bubić stated that he would file an appeal against it.
“The appeal has nothing to do with the president. He said he is no longer interested in it, but he did not revoke the power of attorney. This is a serious illegality; we cannot leave it in legal circulation. The deadline for filing an appeal is 15 days and can be extended for another 15 days upon request of the party,” said Bubić.
The unconstitutional Court of BiH, on February 26, issued a first-instance conviction against the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, for “failing to implement the decisions” of Christian Schmidt, sentencing him to one year in prison and banning him from performing the duties of the President of the Republic for six years from the date the verdict becomes final.
By the same verdict, Miloš Lukić, acting director of the Official Gazette of Republika Srpska, who was tried in the same case, was acquitted of all charges.
Bubić said that a possible appeal to the verdict will be considered once the first-instance ruling is officially served.
