The 26th Art Salon has opened in Doboj, featuring 11 academic artists from the city who are showcasing 39 works, including paintings and sculptures.
One of the Salon’s founders, Pavle Ristićević, has remained committed to large-format paintings throughout his long artistic career.
“A large canvas allows an artist to fully express their vision through color and drawing. I see a lot of talented young artists this year, and I notice some new artistic expressions,” said Ristićević.
A Space for Innovation and Personal Expression
For the tenth consecutive year, Sandra Mlađanović, a painter from Doboj, is exhibiting her work at the Salon. This year, she is presenting six pieces created using a mixed technique.
“For personal reasons, I used my nail polishes instead of classic paints. I love this Salon because each year, I can showcase a different artistic approach—just as I evolve and change every year,” Mlađanović emphasized.
Similarly, Vladislav Maljenović employed a mixed-media technique, with thematically diverse works unified by a consistent artistic style.
“My inspiration is everything around me. I strive to push my artistic boundaries, challenge my imagination, and explore my technical and creative capabilities,” Maljenović explained.
A Showcase of Both Experienced and Emerging Artists
The Doboj Art Salon provides a platform where renowned painters and emerging talents can exhibit their work together.
This year’s Salon is marked by small-format artworks and miniatures, bringing a new intimate dimension to the exhibition.
“The inner energy of each artist is the unifying theme. Every artist has mastered their technique, so we have graphics, abstraction, and sculptures, making this a true showcase of artistic excellence,” said Mišo Damjanović, the exhibition’s curator.
Supporting Local Artists
The main goal of the event is to support Doboj’s academic painters.
“We encourage established artists to continue their work, while giving newcomers the opportunity to present their work for the first, second, or third time to the public,” said Vukosava Sofrenić, director of the Doboj Center for Culture and Education.
The exhibition will remain on display at the art gallery of the Doboj Center for Culture until early April.
