The Serb member and Chairwoman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Željka Cvijanović, met today in Baku with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev.
Cvijanović expressed her gratitude to Aliyev for the excellent cooperation and friendly approach towards all in BiH.
The two officials reaffirmed their full commitment to further strengthening cooperation in all relevant areas, with a particular focus on the economy, energy, and infrastructure, as well as on the implementation of agreed projects.
The meeting also covered various global topics, and Cvijanović informed Aliyev about the ongoing dramatic situation in BiH.
During the discussion, Cvijanović emphasized that an attempt is underway to politically eliminate the legitimate and legally elected president of Republika Srpska through a judicial prosecution orchestrated based on an illegal decision made by an unelected foreign national in BiH.
She stressed that Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik was indicted and initially convicted solely for acting in accordance with the Constitution and laws, rather than the arbitrary will of a foreign official who, through his actions in BiH, is violating both domestic and international law.
On this occasion, Cvijanović assessed that the only way to overcome this crisis is through dialogue among domestic representatives of all peoples and the removal of the harmful consequences of illegal foreign interventionism in BiH.
