The “The Song Above All Songs” literary award, presented by the Club of Artistic Souls from Mrkonjić Grad, has been awarded to Vladimir Rakić, a writer from Belgrade, for his poem “The Speech of the Stars” and his poetic oeuvre.
The competition, announced three months ago by the Club of Artistic Souls, received 900 works from 270 authors across the former Yugoslavia.
All submitted works will be published in the anthology “Poets Who Touch Love.”
Student Teodora Jaslar expressed her admiration for poetry:
- “I truly enjoyed this presentation tonight. I think it might even inspire me to start writing myself.”
Writer Snježana Tešić Jungić from Čelinac described love in a poetic way:
- “Love is when you wake up in the morning – the first breath, the first glance. Love is the essence of everything.”
Author Jovan Eskić from Kotor Varoš emphasized the many forms of love:
- “Books are love – love in many forms. Love for family, for a mother, for one’s homeland, for youth.”
