Serbia has never hesitated to assist Republika Srpska when it comes to any projects, emphasized President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik at a press conference following a meeting between the delegations of Serbia and Srpska.
- “Srpska is proud to celebrate Serbia’s Statehood Day for the first time, which is also the Statehood Day of Srpska. I am very grateful to President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić for this visit and for all the activities we have undertaken so far,” stated Dodik.
Dodik added that one of the most important activities within this cooperation was the meeting of the delegations of Serbia and Srpska, led by their respective presidents.
- “The cooperation between Srpska and Serbia has never been better, thanks to the decisions of Serbia’s leadership. With Vučić coming to power, concrete cooperation activities began. Now is the right time to implement numerous projects,” Dodik added.
He emphasized that Serbia has played a crucial role at a time when foreign donors attempted to weaken Srpska.
- “Serbia’s support is not just about financial aid. Today, every municipality in Srpska has a facility built with Serbia’s help. We discussed the implementation of the Bijeljina–Rača road project. Serbia has already financed the construction of the bridge over the Sava River. We have built numerous bridges and access roads. In any case, our cooperation continues. We are working on projects and collaborating on all issues because Serbia has never hesitated to help Srpska,” Dodik concluded.
He also stated that this meeting was an opportunity to inform Vučić and the Serbian delegation in detail about the undermining of the Dayton Agreement, to which Srpska has been subjected by the previous U.S. administration.
- “Through our further political activities, we will continue to fight for the affirmation of our rights, acquired through an international agreement,” Dodik added.
He emphasized that the so-called High Representative was merely a tool used to target Srpska’s leadership and that now the same tactics are being employed through the Court and Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, which he described as unconstitutional institutions.
- “The situation for Republika Srpska is becoming unbearable, and we will be forced to defend our rights through the activities of the National Assembly. I know that Serbia stands behind Republika Srpska. Serbia is a signatory and guarantor of the Dayton Agreement, and that is of great importance to us,” he stated.
That Serbia continues to invest in Srpska at all levels was also confirmed by President of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić.
