The National Theatre of Republika Srpska will introduce its youngest audience to the exciting world of music in theatre through the concert series “Introductions for Children: In Search of Music,” scheduled to take place from February to May.
The National Theatre of Republika Srpska stated that the chamber music concert cycle “Introductions” was organized to allow members of the Symphony Orchestra to perform in smaller ensembles and connect with the audience.
“Our orchestra members will perform for the youngest audience, aiming to ignite their interest and love for music and theatre. The concerts will be interactive and will take place once a month from February to May,” the theatre announced.
The host and creator of these concerts is violinist Mina Đekić, a member of the Symphony Orchestra of the National Theatre, who will guide children through the theatre while engaging them in discussions about how music enriches and enhances the theatrical experience.
Through interactive discussions and carefully designed activities, children will have the opportunity to actively participate in all concerts.
“By listening to selected classical music pieces, they will learn about the fundamental elements of music. The program will include excerpts from operas and plays currently featured at the National Theatre of Republika Srpska, as well as works by great composers such as Johann Sebastian Bach, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Georg Philipp Telemann, and others,” the theatre stated.
The first concerts of the series will be held on Tuesday, February 11, for fourth-grade students of Ivo Andrić Elementary School in Banja Luka.
