At today’s press conference, Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik stated that USAID had been directing funds to influence election control in Bosnia and Herzegovina and that he possesses precise data on this matter.
“Before the previous elections, I addressed the public and warned that a ‘death threat’ loomed over some individuals. This is connected to a money-laundering scheme,” Dodik claimed.
He stated that USAID spent $402 million over four years during the tenure of U.S. Ambassador Michael Murphy.
“They claimed that I rigged the last elections. There was even a ballot recount in Sarajevo, but none of it helped them manipulate the results,” the President of Srpska emphasized.
Dodik noted that the vast majority of the funds were directed to the Federation of BiH, but that some also ended up in Republika Srpska, particularly in certain media outlets.
He also questioned who initially advocated for the introduction of voting scanners.
“Only those who intended to manipulate the elections, including Ambassador Murphy. Just remember how many problems arose when we challenged all of this. They even suspended the Constitution for a day. USAID spent $402 million, and they succeeded in many ways because here, political opinions are bought with money,” Dodik asserted.
He announced that he would request an investigation into the matter by the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior.
“Today, I will order a full investigation. We will persist in uncovering the truth. I also extend my gratitude to U.S. President Donald Trump for initiating this wave of revelations—until now, we only had obedient followers. Those who dared to speak up were sanctioned,” Dodik concluded.
